My friend Pah, me, Pah's daughter Mo, Michiel (from Netherlands office of our company), back row is Pang, Joy and Taow at Wat Phra Kaew in Bangkok - photo taken by Pah's husband who is an amazing photographer.
Me and my friend, Tua, at Postcard Cafe at Amphawa Floating Market - the photo was taken by a professional photographer there for the huge amount of 35 baht ($1).
Part of Amphawa Floating Market just when it was starting to go dark. So pretty!
Crazy Tua writing postcards at a coffee shop at Amphawa Floating Market
Very cool coffee shop set up in a small soi (alley) at Amphawa. You could get coffee drinks, buy postcards and have your photo taken by a professional photographer for 35 baht ($1)
Well, I said she was crazy!!
Last Saturday, I went to Wat Phra Kaew and Amphawa Floating Market with a group of people from work. Had a fabulous time. Wat Phra Kaew is incredibly beautiful and Amphawa Floating Market is the most amazing floating market I've ever seen. About an hour and a half's drive out of Bangkok, we also had lunch at a seafood restaurant near the floating market. Called "Daeng" ('Red' in Thai), it's pretty famous around that area and for good reason. Huge plates of fresh shrimp, a plate of fresh crab with shallotes, a plate of fresh crab with curry, fried rice with shrimp, an enormous fried fish, plates of sauteed vegetables, a fish like sardines but bigger, and more. Only 400 baht per person (about $11.50) and absolutely the tastiest and freshest seafood I've ever had.
